“Insomnia” is out, and RIIZE's next album has begun to take shape. The group released the single and its music video on October 26. Their Japanese official site posted the streaming links that day, ending the wait for the song itself.

SM Entertainment describes “Insomnia” as the prologue to a second full-length album due in spring 2027. It arrives roughly four months after the mini-album II. For now, the new release is a single-track package: Melon's listing contains just “Insomnia,” with an October 26 release date.

The people behind Insomnia

Kim Eana wrote the Korean lyrics. The composition credits name Jonathan Yip, Ray Romulus, Jeremy Reeves and August Rigo, with The Stereotypes and Rigo handling the arrangement. Rigo has a previous RIIZE credit on “9 Days,” from their first mini-album.

Those credits tell a more specific story than simply calling this a new sound for the group. A returning collaborator joins a lyricist writing about the thoughts that keep someone awake. SM calls the recording acoustic pop built around guitar; that description comes from the release notes. The words' role in setting the scene connects with how lyrics affect what we hear, while the separate writing and arranging credits illustrate the different stages of song construction.

What the album announcement leaves open

The official notice links the single and video. It does not supply a full album track list or a precise spring date. Melon's entry fills in the song's personnel and format, but does not answer those album questions either.

For the six-member RIIZE, this is the first released piece of that next chapter. Fans can follow the credits back to “9 Days” while waiting to learn how “Insomnia” will sit alongside the rest of the forthcoming record.
