Charlie Puth was among the many stars and superfans who paid tribute to beloved comedy actor Matthew Perry over the weekend, after the Friends star was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Saturday (October 28) at 54 years.

During his concert at the Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday night, Puth got the audience to join him for a piano version of the iconic Friends theme, “I'll Be There for You” from the Rembrandts.

Puth then begins to play the upbeat intro music from the NBC series while the audience joins him in singing the melancholic lyrics: “So no one told your life was gonna be this way/ Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's DOA” from the chorus.

Puth then subtly segues into his 2015 hit single “See You Again” from the soundtrack of Furious 7, the Wiz Khalifa collaboration that served as a tribute to late Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker; The song has been the biggest hit for both artists to date, spending 12 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Several other artists paid tribute to Perry over the weekend after the actor was found dead in a hot tub; At press time, a cause of death had not been announced. Adele honored Perry during a show at her residency in Las Vegas: “I'll remember that character for the rest of my life,” she said of Perry's role on Friends as Chandler Bing. “He is probably the best comic character of all time.”
