Oasis finally brought their reunion tour to South America, and man, they didn’t hold back in Buenos Aires last night. The Estadio Más Monumental was absolutely packed, and the Gallagher brothers turned it into something way more than your average rock gig—especially for the Argentine crowd who still worship Diego Maradona.

A Proper Goosebump Moment for the Locals

They tore into “Live Forever,” and boom—Maradona’s face flashed huge across the screens. The place erupted. Liam grabbed the mic and yelled, “This next one’s for Diego Maradona!” before launching into “Rock ’N’ Roll Star.” Absolute pandemonium. Yeah, the guy once (half-jokingly) threatened to shoot them in a bar back in the day, but last night it was pure love. Noel had even stopped by Boca Juniors earlier, posing under Maradona’s statue, and Liam later called him “proper rock ’n’ roll footballer… scary but beautiful.” Spot on.

They’ve Been Doing This All Tour

Oasis has made a habit of saluting legends at every stop. Cardiff got a tribute to the late Diogo Jota, they flashed Ozzy Osbourne in the UK and called him the original rock ’n’ roll star, Ricky Hatton got his flowers at Wembley. Now Maradona gets the same treatment on his own turf. Whatever old beef there was, it’s all respect now.

Bonehead’s Still There in Spirit

The tour’s got extra weight because Bonehead is battling prostate cancer again—he beat tonsil cancer in 2022, but this round means he’s missing the Asia and Australia legs. They’ve got a life-size cut-out of him on stage every night and Mike Moore filling in like a champ. The crowd roars even louder when they shout him out.

Tonight they’re back in Buenos Aires, then it’s off to Chile and Brazil. Every gig feels bigger, louder, and honestly more human than anyone expected. Rock icons, football icons, personal fights—they’re honouring it all under those stadium lights.
