TAKE THAT

- The Flood Lyrics

StandingOn the edge of foreverAt the start of whateverShouting love at the world
Back thenWe were like cavemenBut we mapped the moon and the starsThen we forgave them
We will meet you where the lights areThe defenders of the faith we areWhen the thunder turns aroundThey'll run so hard we'll tear the ground away
You know no one diesIn these love-drowned eyesThrough our love-drowned eyesWe'll watch you sleep tonight
Although no one understood, we were holding back the floodLearning how to dance the rainWe were holding back the floodThey said we'd never dance again
BleedingBut none of us leavingWatch your mouth, sonOr you'll find yourself floating home
Here we come now on a dark starSeeing demons, not what we areTiny minds and eager handsWill try to strike but now will end today
There's progress nowWhere there once was noneWhere there once was, ahThen everything came along
Although no one understood, we were holding back the floodLearning how to dance the rainThere was more of them than usNow they'll never dance again
Although no one understood there was more of them than usLearning how to dance the rainWe were holding back the floodThey said we'd never dance again
We will meet you where the lights areThe defenders of the faith we areWhen the thunder turns aroundThey'll run so hard we'll tear the ground away
Although no one understood there was more of them than usLearning how to dance the rainThere was more of them than usNow they'll never dance again
Now we'll never dance again

When we dive into the story the lyrics are telling, Take That in their song 'The Flood' use metaphor to depict a narrative of progress and resilience amid challenges. It indicates a strong unity and a will to conquer the difficulties, represented by restraining the flood and getting to know how to enjoy the rain, and finally giving a loud and clear message of unity and perseverance being the brawniest. The flood lyrics mainly talk about love, inspiration, empowerment, hope, and heartbreak. Nevertheless, the song points out that resilience and hope are the essential qualities in love and connection becoming the winner in the fight against adversity. The lyrics contain some mature themes and imagery that may require parental guidance, such as references to struggle and conflict, but do not include explicit language, violence, or adult content that would necessitate a higher rating.

Its about the band themselves, take that, they were a 5 piece boy band, then split into a 4 piece band and Robbie Williams who went solo due to them falling out, then last year they got back together.

I think this song is about being young and brave forever. Even if you are getting old, you can stay young in your heart...:)

Hmmm randon sentences thrown together and then sung as a song, I can do that but I can't sing as brilliantly as Take That. Works though doesn't it?
