- Creep Lyrics

When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry

You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so f*cking special

But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here

I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul

I want you to notice
When I'm not around
You're so f*cking special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here

She's running out the door
She's running
She run, run, run, run
Run

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so f*cking special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't belong here

What is the meaning behind Creep lyrics?

When we look deeper into its meaning, Radiohead's 'Creep' is a powerful song dealing with the themes of inadequacy and longing for acceptance. The words give an impression of the in-between and self-doubt, where the singer is looking for recognition as someone unique and worthy of attention, still feeling like an outsider. Calling himself a 'creep' and a 'weirdo' shows the singer's deep insecurity and at the same the desire to belong even if he considers himself unworthy. The lyrics of 'Creep' underline mainly angst, heartbreak, loneliness, despair, and introspection. On the other hand, the song puts the focus on the more positive side of alienation and self-doubt, need for acceptance and insecurity and yearning at the same time. The lyrics are quite strong and carry themes of alienation and self-doubt that are generally not considered appropriate for children below the age of 13. Although the use of swear words is not very frequent, it still is considerable enough to justify a PG-13 rating.

Every time I hear this song no matter who sings it- I become filled with emotion and the tears flow heavy. Never ever has this ever happened to me before. I'm not certain why either. It's like some auto trigger oddity.

Its about anorexia. You float like a feather in a beautiful world - thin & light as a feather. I don't care if it hurts, I want to have control - the driving force behind eating disorders is control; it's often the only thing they feel like they can control. I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul - anyone who has ever battled anorexia knows this feeling. The perfect body equals the perfect soul - imperfect body leaves you feeling like a worthless outcast (creep, weirdo).

So many memories...(bad ones)... flood back when I hear this song. But now it's different. Because we are who we are. Weird and proud of it. Noone can change that.
