to me, this song symbolizes how human try to fit it, but can't, because they keep on getting rejected. so now, they have this monster or demon in them, telling them to be someone they are not, so they are trying to break free of it, but because the people getting rejected more, the monsters getting stronger.

In this case, the person is blaming theirself for their difference and asking forgiveness for something natural. They view themselves as a monster because they feel like an outcast who doesn't belong.
