I think that John was such an artist that he could arrange words & lyrics magically to the extent that we don't really need to find a meaning or understand... the song just rocks!!!

One and one and one is three, John refer to the remaining band member of the Beatles. It's only three, because Paul died on Nov 1966 of car accident. The Paul that we have now is william campbell
