DramaGods formed in 2002 when Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt assembled a touring band to promote his solo album Population 1, also recorded under the name Population 1, as such the group was initially known as Population 1.By 2004 the band line-up had become a full time band when the EP Sessions from Room 4 was released.It was in 2005 that Population 1 were forced to change their name due to legal issues.
