That Handsome Devil Johnny Wouldn't Die Lyrics

In his favorite band shirt hangin' from the lamp cord
Would've got it done if it wasn't for his grandma
Stay away from razor blades, what a mess you've made today
He wanted to be Kurt Cobain, but Johnny wouldn't die

But you're young and you think things last forever
Sleep it off, you'll feel much better

In the garage, engine runnin'
Feeling funny, dreamin' somethin'
Close your eyes, see Death comin'
Johnny wouldn't die
Sit in the kitchen, head in the oven
Feeling funny, dreamin' somethin'
Guess that even God don't want him
Johnny wouldn't die
Life just felt depressin', waiting, self-obsessin'
At the pool at school, he sunk and held his breath in
Stay away from razor blades, what a mess you've made today
He wanted to be Kurt Cobain, but Johnny wouldn't die

But you're young and you think it won't get better
Nothing lasts forever

In the garage, engine runnin'
Feeling funny, dreamin' somethin'
Close your eyes, see Death comin' Johnny wouldn't die
Sit in the kitchen, head in the oven
Feeling funny, dreamin' somethin'
Guess that even God don't want him
Johnny wouldn't die

Go Johnny, go; go, Johnny, go, go
Go Johnny, go; go, Johnny, go
Go to that white light; I'll see in the next life
Go Johnny, go; go, Johnny, go, go
Go Johnny, go; go, Johnny, go, go
Go to that white light; I'll catch you on the flip side

Johnny wasn't doin' well on the train of Louisville
Nearly overdosed in the back of a commuter rail
Play all day with razor blades, burn out quick and fade away
Say hello to Kurt Cobain, Johnny wouldn't die
But you're young and you think things last forever
Sleep it off, you'll feel much better

In the garage, engine runnin'
Feeling funny, dreamin' somethin'
Close your eyes, see Death comin'
Johnny wouldn't die
Sit in the kitchen, head in the oven
Feeling funny, dreamin' somethin'
Guess that even God don't want him
Johnny wouldn't die
