Take the night and darken everything around me
Call the clouds and listen closely, I'm lost without you
Call your name everyday, when I feel so helpless
I'm fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Hate your mind, regrets are better left unspoken
For all we know this void will grow
And everything's in vain, distressing you, don't leave me open
Feels so right that I'll end this all before it gets me
Call your name everyday, when I feel so helpless
I'm fallen down, but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Call your name everyday when I seem so helpless
I'm fallen down but I'll rise above this rise, rise above this now
I'll mend myself before it gets me
I'll mend myself before it gets me
I'll mend myself before it gets me
I'll mend myself before it gets me
Call your name everyday when I feel so helpless
I'm fallen down but I'll rise above this, rise above this
Forty eight ways to say that I'm feeling helpless
Fallen down and I'll rise above this, rise above this
Rise above this, rise above this now

What is the meaning behind Rise Above This lyrics?
When we explore how the lyrics were meant to make us feel, Seether's "Rise Above This" is all about dealing with mixed feelings inside and the longing to actually rise above them. The meaning of the song is shown through the metaphor of overcoming doubt and despair, which represents power and self-healing. Rise above this lyrics primarily talk about anxiety, strength, meditation, discouragement, and love loss. At the same time, the music underlines the role of hopelessness, power, emotional conflict, and independence. The words speak of suffering, insignificance, and wanting to quit before things get worse, which could be alarming for kids. The constant reference to one being 'helpless' and 'fallen down' points to an emotional intensity that would probably not be appropriate for children unless guided by parents. To make it even worse, the line 'I'll end this all before it gets me' suggests sinister notions so the song definitely gets a PG-13 rating for its mature subject matter and emotional impact. ✔️

No, it was not written ABOUT his brothers suicide, it was written BEFORE his suicide, trying to get him to rise above this and NOT commit suicide. Fantastic song by one of my favorite bands.
