No wonder I'm scared
To look in your eyes
You've turned me away
So many times
You can take it away
At any given moment
It's hard to believe
While you're in this disguise
So would you hold me please
I'm trying hard to breathe
I'm just surviving
So would you hold me please
I'm trying hard to breathe
Stop me from crying
When I see you walking with her
I have to cover my eyes
(I have to cover my eyes)
Every time you leave with her
Something inside me dies
(Something inside of me dies)
No wonder it hurts
To sit by your side
(TurnED me away so many times)
There's a different song
I can play you tonight
(We don't have to sit here in silence)
We can break the pattern
We can change the colour
(It's just a little sacrifice)
You don't need to worry about the others
(It's all in your mind)
So would you hold me please
I'm trying hard to breathe
I'm just surviving
So would you hold me please
I'm trying hard to breathe
Stop me from crying
When I see you walking with her
I have to cover my eyes
(I have to cover my eyes)
Every time you leave with her
Something inside me dies
(Something inside of me dies) x3

When we look deeper into its meaning, La Roux’s song 'Cover My Eyes' is centered on the deep sadness and suffering of seeing a person who is dear to you being with another person, which leads to conflicts and distress in one’s emotions. To a large extent the lyrics describe the person’s efforts to deal with the situation, revealing the idea of needing to cover one’s self from the painful reality and its strong emotional impact on the individual. Overall, the Cover my eyes lyrics project themes of heartache, trouble, despair, and loneliness along with pondering. Parallelly, the sound puts the sorrow and loss along with the craving for a bond and emotional strain at the center. The words carry the weight of heartbreak and emotional turmoil, which probably will not be an ideal scenario for very small kids. Despite the fact that there is no such language used or graphical content presented, the severity of emotions and references to sadness and loss imply that parental guidance is necessary. ✔️

I think she sings better than Ellie Goulding. I personally like Elly Jackson better. I can also relate to this song. It reminds me of my friends. So anyways i love all of Elly's songs.

I think La Roux is a good band and I love this song. I understand they are triphopish, but this song sounds rather Caribbean in terms of the tone of the sound I use, which I just personally don't like
