[Intro]
Rain your blood on me!
Rain your blood on me!
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
[Verse 1]
Bitches burning in the flames
Wicked women take the blame
Devil's daughters made for pain
Scarlet letters bare the shame
[Chorus]
Rain your blood on me
Rain your blood on me
[Post-Chorus]
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
[Verse 2]
Crimson chaos through the cracks
Barefoot through the broken glass
Chasing ghosts back from the dead
History repeats himself
[Bridge]
Born to better be weak, to better be strong, to never be wrong, but never be right!
Sweet, but don't be a prude, but don't be a creep, and don't be a fool, but don't be too wise!
And don't forget to smile!
Whoa-oh-oh
Ah-ah
Whoa-oh-oh
Ah-ah-oh
[Chorus]
Rain your blood on me!
Rain your blood on me!
[Post-Chorus]
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
[Verse 3]
Break the chain around my neck
Scream my name in shades of red, red
A great flood is coming soon
Oceans rising with the moon
Rage is running through my veins
Tears of war that paint my face
Pull the knife and lick the blade
Crack the sky and bring the rain
[Outro]
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Reference to female menstrual blood, as something that viscerally defines women from men, especially with the moon reference (28 day cycle), I think. Although the narrative of women having to ride the hypocritical duality is a bit inaccurate. Men also have to ride their own (female-imposed) dualities - like not being violent against women (even non-physically, and even if women are unjustly violent against them INCLUDING MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY) - but men also having to be ready to wreak violence in defence of themselves and their families. Respect to the social scientists who are out there quietly compiling information and facts on domestic abuse. One day this war might end without us losing our humanity, unless it's inherent? In which case why complain, it's a form of self-hatred at that point! Just ride it and respect that we're all existentially-compromised. Evolution vs civilisation.
