- Delirium Lyrics

Black was the night when I did surrender
I did give in to my weakening side
Now that I'm empty, my dreams once were many
Souls bid a cry to unleash the divine

When you think there's no way out
And all you see collides
Hope will in the end chase all your fears away

Fighting the source was not recommended
Trails of a wish were the hope to survive
Skins full ablazing, release crystal gazing
All of it led to a deeper demise

When you think there's no way out
And no one comprehends
Hope will show your smile again

What I left behind,
Another night of weary dreams
What's been left behind,
Another time where days of late are far away
Far away
Losing my reasons, no lies to believe in
Left the obscure to the means of escape
Core has been shaking, there's no more pain to break me
Time has commenced and I long to awake

When you think there's no way out
Leave everything behind
You can live your life anew

What I left behind,
Another night of weary dreams
What's been left behind,
Another time where days of late are far away
Far away

Dark days behind me
Won't ever break me now

All that left behind
Another night of weary dreams
What's been left behind
Another time where days of late are far away
Far away

Just another night
In another time

What is the meaning behind Delirium lyrics?

When we try to understand the message behind it, Epica's 'Delirium' takes a journey through despair and darkness and ultimately comes out victorious by finding hope. The metaphors such as 'night' and 'weary dreams' stand for hard times and the renewal process, respectively. Delirium lyrics are mainly about reflection, hope, angst, inspiration, and empowerment. Besides that, the song points out the relationship between desperation and surrender, hope and renewal, loss and letting go, and finally, the victory over darkness. The lyrics convey themes of despair, surrender, and a conflict with one's self, which might be quite strong for children. Moreover, metaphors like 'Skins full ablazing' and 'deeper demise' indicate the use of sophisticated imagery and language that can only appeal to mature audiences, thus the PG-13 rating.

I love this song - it's sung with so much emotion and the music is great!
I think that this song could be about a person who has gone through a bad time in life, such as a bout of depression or losing a loved one, etc, but is breaking through and has decided that they want to break free of their problems, get help and not let their past drag them down.
