What is the meaning behind In This River lyrics?
When we ask ourselves what the song was truly meant to express, the Black Label Society's song, 'In This River' utilizes a river as a metaphor to depict the passage of time and the inescapability of confronting difficulties and sufferings. A feeling of surrender to the vicissitudes of life is imparted through the lyrics along with the notion that some things cannot be undone or altered thereby stressing the finality and irreversibility of certain occurrences. The In this river lyrics mainly portray despair, heartbreak, angst, reflection and solitude. Moreover, the track spots the triumph of self-discovery over loss, and despair. The lyrics express themes of struggle and emotional turbulence, which are not likely to be appropriate for very young children. Nevertheless, the song does not contain any explicit language, violence, or adult content that would require a higher rating. ✔️

Mans search for God. The river, the storm, the door are all in the bible. It all points to our creator whether we know it or not. Thats what i think

I love this song! It really touches me. I feel its incomplete though, that there is another verse, if not 2 that they should've written, instead of simply repeating the chorus so many times at the end
