I've been asked to write a song about what you might be missing
When you're staring at your smartphones and into your computer screens
And not playing by the river
Skipping stones and climbing trees

And did you know your great grand daddy once smiled at the moon
But there won't be any footage of it on YouTube
And once upon a time when someone saw something beautiful
They watched it with their eyes not through the screen of a telephone
A picture might be worth a thousand pixels
But there's still some things you can enjoy without your log in details

So tell the dandelion it can tell the time
Pull your trousers up
Head to the river side
Blow the cobwebs off of your careless soul
Watch the sunrise when you're on you're own And I'll try to tell you to be careful
But you've never really lived
If you've never been stung by a stinging nettle
