Star began releasing music after posting a video in 2022 jokingly calling herself an "underground rap princess," despite having no prior experience in rapping. Her early singles "Cortisa Crump" and "Fun" were both released in February 2024, followed by "Bad ASF" in December 2024. By the end of that year, she had released eleven songs.
