Delilah歌詞中文翻譯
I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
She was my woman
As she deceived me I watched and went out of my mind
My, my, my, Delilah
Why? Why? Why Delilah?
I could see that girl was no good for me
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free
At break of day when that man drove away, I was waiting
I cross the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my Delilah
Why? Why? Why Delilah?
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah, I just couldn't take any more
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my, Delilah
Why? Why? Why Delilah?
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah, I just couldn't take any more
Forgive me Delilah, I just couldn't take any more
It is first released on January 11, 2005 as part of Tom Jones's album "Tom Jones: Gold" which includes 42 tracks in total. This song is the 18th track on this album. ✔️
What is the meaning behind Delilah lyrics?
When we try to understand the message behind it, Tom Jones' song "Delilah" is a tale of betrayal and revenge. The main character's feelings experience a complete change from love to fury when they find out about the cheating of their partner, Delilah, which leads to a tragic end indicated by the constant reference to a knife. The text shows a very active relationship where the trust was shattered, and the protagonist's behavior was completely motivated by a combination of heartbreak and a revenge wish. The lyrics of Delilah are mainly centered on heartbreak, love, despair, angst, and anger. Nonetheless, the song also underlines the significance of betrayal and heartbreak, and desperation and violence. The lyrics present the themes of betrayal and violence, with the use of knife imagery and a feeling of hopelessness, which could be considered as not appropriate for kids younger than 13. The intensity of the emotions and the hint of violence imply that parents should be involved in the decision of whether or not to let their children hear the song. ✔️

our parents adopted this song as our family theme song. We are in our 3rd generation for keeping this song alive. We sing this at every family function happy or sad with tears as we remember.

I've been singing this song since I was a squirt too and it down't matter that it is about murder. A song about one mans' jealousy ,in my mothers eyes, was better than singing a song about sex appeal.
