Honky Tonk Woman Lyrics

Songwriters: Jagger, Mick; Richards, Keith;

I met a gin soaked, bar-room queen in Memphis,
She tried to take me upstairs for a ride.
She had to heave me right across her shoulder
'Cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind.

It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

I laid a divorcee in New York City,
I had to put up some kind of a fight.
The lady then she covered me in roses,
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind.

It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

(Yeah!) It's the honky tonk women.
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

(Yeah!) It's the honky tonk women.
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

There are 2 versions of the song. DUH. One with the lyrics about Paris and the other about the Divorcee. One is called Honky Tonk Women, one is called Country Honk.

These are the right lyrics for Live in SF (bootleg) except they also sing the divorcee lyric (with I 'laid' a divorcee, not 'saw')

I've heard these lyrics used on plenty of earlier stuff. Get Yer Ya-Ya's out, comes to mind. Either way, great, great song...one of their best.
