NIRVANA

- You Know You're Right Lyrics

Songwriters: Cobain, Kurt;

I will never bother you
I will never promise too
I will never follow you
I will never bother you

Never speak a word again
I will crawl away for good
I will move away from here
You won't be afraid of fear

No thought was put into this
I always knew it would come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to fail

Pain, pain, pain
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right

I'm so warm and calm inside
I no longer have to hide
Let's talk about someone else
Stinging soon begins to melt

Nothing really bothers her
She just wants to love herself
I will move away from here
You won't be afraid of fear

No thought was put into this
I always knew it would come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to fail

Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain

You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right

Pain

What is the meaning behind You Know You're Right lyrics?

When we look at what the artist truly meant to say, the track "You Know You're Right" from the band Nirvana goes through pain and emotional struggles, and the lyricist talks about the same through a series of not caring, losing, and hurting. The phrase "You know you're right," which is repeated several times in the song, might represent a feeling of certainty or a call to one's beliefs when in a battle with emotions and mental health. The meaning of the words is mostly around angst, heartbreak, and despair, as well as reflection and solitude. The song, however, continues to point out the positive side of pain and suffering through the life of an artist isolated and detached yet self-accepting. The lyrics reveal pain and emotional struggle themes that seem to be more appropriate for a teenager above 13. The recurrence of the word 'pain' and the allusions to the feelings of failing and hiding imply a more profound emotional background that might need parents' supervision.

Alex - Kurt is DEFINITELY saying 'Hey', not 'Pain'. Search 'Nirvana - You Know You're Right VOCALS ONLY' on YouTube for a video of the isolated vocal track of the song. CLEARLY not saying 'Pain'.

He is definitely saying 'Pain' not 'hey' I hate people who think he is saying hey. Changing that one lyrics really changes the emotion of the song.

After watching it live, the game Guitar Hero and other lyric websites use the word HEY instead of Pain. This is correct, as they never close their mouths between the chant HEY which can't be PAIN.
