In my eyes, I'm not lazy. In my face, it's not over.
In your room, I'm not older. In your eyes, I'm not worth it.
Give me back my alcohol. [x6]
Give me back my ..., give me back my..., give me back!
[Frist:]
Give me all your ... [x6]
[Second:]
Give me all your ... [x5]
Give me back ... aaaaah! ... love!
[Third:]
Give me all your ... [x5]
Give me your ... aaaaah! ...f*ck!
It is first released on June 01, 1989 as part of Nirvana's album "Bleach" which includes 25 tracks in total. ✔️
What is the meaning behind Scoff lyrics?
When we interpret the meaning being expressed, Nirvana's 'Scoff' conveys their sentiments of rebellion and annoyance not to be taken seriously or expressively. 'Gimme back my alcohol' being sung over and over again may stand for reassuming power or laying claim to your rights in a loud manner. The opposing phrases 'Heal a million, Kill a million' could be interpreted as revealing one's inner conflicts and feelings to be on the negative side, indicating a fight between healing and self-destruction. The lyrics of Scoff mainly focus on feelings of rage, agony, depression, contemplation and love's ouch. Besides that, the song points out the necessity of battling one's self-worth, addiction and dependency plus the cycle of healing and destruction. Though the lyrics speak of alcohol and have references to healing and killing, they might not be appropriate for kids below 13 years old. The continuous singing of 'Gimme back my alcohol' points to a developing theme that has to do with substance use, thus implying a PG-13 rating. ✔️
It's about Kurt not feeling accepted as an adult and being labeled a loser to those around him...so he figures if I'm gonna be thought of that way I might aswell be like that and get wasted
