NIRVANA

- Polly Lyrics

Polly wants a cracker
I think I should get off her first
I think she wants some water
To put out the blow torch

Isn't me, have a seed
Let me clip your dirty wings
Let me take a ride, cut yourself
Want some help, please myself

Got some rope, you have been told
Promise you, I have been true
Let me take a ride, cut yourself
Want some help, please myself

Polly wants a cracker
Maybe she would like some food
She asked me to untie her
A chase would be nice for a few

Isn't me, have a seed
Let me clip dirty wings
Let me take a ride, cut yourself
Want some help, please myself

Got some rope, you have been told
Promise you, I have been true
Let me take a ride, cut yourself
Want some help, please myself

Polly said

Polly says her back hurts
She's just as bored as me
She caught me off my guard
Amazes me the will of instinct

Isn't me, have a seed
Let me clip dirty wings
Let me take a ride, cut yourself
Want some help, please myself

Got some rope, you have been told
Promise you, I have been true
Let me take a ride, cut yourself
Want some help, please myself

What is the meaning behind Polly lyrics?

When we think about the meaning behind each verse, the song 'Polly' from Nirvana narrates a very dark tale of imprisonment and deceit. The words give a very shocking picture of Polly, who stands for the victim, being held prisoner and mistreated by someone. The recurring phrases about chopped wings and a trip to nowhere represent the ideas of helplessness and ill-treatment, thus, drawing attention to the plight of the captives who are yearning for freedom. Polly lyrics primarily convey feelings of angst, despair, reflection, solitude, and heartbreak. However, the song simultaneously highlights the desire for freedom, self-harm, and struggle, boredom and apathy. The lyrics include the themes of self-harm and contain suggestive images that might not be proper for kids below thirteen. The repetitious mention of cutting and the context of the theme imply a very dark subject matter that needs parental guidance.

I hate all of you. Everyone has to bring up his suicide like its the most significant thing about him and its not. Live through his music not his death.AndHe didnt hate his fans, read his suicide note

Kurt suffered from drug addiction and severe depression. It wasn't the fame. He was goin to rehab before he waas ever famous. He may haave hated the fame and all but that was just a symptom.

Kurt Cobain was an incredible artist who dared to write n sing about stuff even with the possiblty of rejection. Music is up for interruption n how it speaks 2 you as a person!

This song wasn't about posers. It was about a girl who was kidnapped tortured and raped at a punk rock show in the late 80's. Kurt read the story in the paper and wrote this song...
