Newtown Neurotics Newtown People Lyrics

Newtown people you are so cold
Newtown people they haven't got a soul
They try, oh they try, yes they try
But no matter what they do it all comes to nought

Chorus:
But they've gone wrong
They've missed it, but it is near
161 has got to be around here
They've gone wrong
They've missed it, but then again
161 has got to be around the next bend
But this town is like a maze
Well I hate to admit it to you
That I think we're lost again

Newtown people you are so bored
Newtown people just don't bother anymore
Well there's lots of youth with nothing to do
No money in their pockets for them to use
But you can bet your life they're all in love with Uhu

Chorus:
But they've gone wrong
They've missed it, but it is near
161 has got to be around here
They've gone wrong
They've missed it, but then again
161 has got to be around the next bend
But this town is like a maze
Well I hate to admit it to you
That I think we're lost again

When God created this town it was for practice He then created hell and the fact is
Well it is heaven compared with here
The entertainment is better down there
Why the hell don't the buses run
We're always waiting for hours
It's no wonder the shelters get done
Frustrations unleashed on the thin metal sheets
And the wet concrete, yes there's far too much concrete in this town

Newtown buildings they are so grey
As if specially designed to suit the newtown, suit the newtown day
Well there's not a bit of colour to brighten up your life
It makes the winter months all the harder to survive
But you know, we all know we've gotta pull through, gotta pull through

Chorus:
Well we've gone wrong
We've missed it but it is near
161 has got to be around here
We've gone wrong
We've missed it, but then again
161 has got to be around the next bend
But this town is like a maze
Well I hate to admit it to you
But I think we're lost again
