Cold is the water
It freezes your already cold mind
Already cold, cold mind
And death is at your doorstep
And it will steal your innocence
But it will not steal your substance
But you are not alone in this
And you are not alone in this
As brothers we will stand and we'll hold your hand
Hold your hand
And you are the mother
The mother of your baby child
The one to whom you gave life
And you have your choices
And these are what make man great
His ladder to the stars
But you are not alone in this
And you are not alone in this
As brothers we will stand and we'll hold your hand
Hold your hand
And I will tell the night
Whisper, "Lose your sight"
But I can't move the mountains for you
Timshel is written by Marcus Oliver Johnstone Mumford, Benjamin Walter David Lovett, Edward James Milton Dwane, Winston Aubrey Aladar Marshall. ✔️
When was Timshel released?
It is first released on October 05, 2009 as part of Mumford & Sons's album "Sigh No More" which includes 12 tracks in total. This song is the 7th track on this album. ✔️
What is the meaning behind Timshel lyrics?
When we dive into the story the lyrics are telling, the track 'Timshel' by Mumford & Sons beautifully expresses the idea of empathy and togetherness in the struggle against life. It pointed out the importance of the decisions and the power of unity represented by the metaphor of brothers being together and helping one another. The song director recalls the struggles of resilience, the hardships and joys of parenthood and human relationships, thus, painting a picture of shared duty and the power to conquer barriers through the help of others. Timshel lyrics have mainly placed love, empowerment, inspiration, hope, and heartbreak at the center of their focus. At the same time, the song accentuates the triangle of support, solidarity, life, and choices, struggles, and resilience. The lyrics include motifs of death and struggle, which can be seen as inappropriate for very young children. However, since there is no bad language, violence, or sexual content, the song is still suitable for older children who are under parental supervision. ✔️

Beautiful song. @Kelsey J, incredible story - stay strong! Your courage is truly inspiring, and there is One who CAN move your mountains, if you seek Him out He'll find you. Christ bless your child.

This song really speaks to me. I'm 15 weeks pregnant with a baby I know has a fatal condition...I chose to carry and not abort despite pressure from dr, family and friends. These lyrics are perfect.
