Darius Rucker Sara Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Sara, I know it's been 'bout 30 years since I heard from you
Are you still down in Fort Lauderdale?
And does your daddy still think I'm bad for you?
Young, young hearts never grow old, never get tired, but I'm not lookin' for love
Oh no

[Chorus]
It don't matter if you're married
It don't matter if you're settled down
It don't matter if you're five kids deep on a dead-end street
In the middle of town
I don't wanna be your lover
I don't wanna be your man
I just wanna sit and talk to you
'Til the day is through
Like we're thirteen again
I ain't lookin' for a one-night
I'm just lookin' for a friend
[Verse 2]
Sara, somehow it didn't feel right for me to call you up
And I've been tryin' for a long time, I know
But I know how you'rе doin' just didn't seem good enough
Torn apart when werе young
We were just children, has time changed who you are?
If so

[Chorus]
It don't matter if you're married
It don't matter if you're settled down It don't matter if you're five kids deep on a dead-end street
In the middle of town
I don't wanna be your lover
I don't wanna be your man
I just wanna sit and talk to you
'Til the day is through
Like we're thirteen again
I ain't lookin' for a one-night
I'm just lookin' for a friend now

[Bridge]
Well, lately, I have been thinkin' about you
What in the world, has this life passed us by?
So if you hear me, my old friend Sara
[Chorus]
It don't matter if you're married
It don't matter if you're settled down
It don't matter if you're five kids deep on a dead-end street
In the middle of town
I don't wanna be your lover
I don't wanna be your man
I just wanna sit and talk to you
'Til the day is through
Like we're thirteen again
I ain't lookin' for a one-night
I'm just lookin' for a friend now
I ain't lookin' for a one-night
I'm just lookin' for my friend, oh
