CHURCHILL

- Change Lyrics

To make you want me I can fabricate the truth
I'll give you easy it'll keep me destitute
You hang me up on the line, hang me out to dry
And you got nothing to lose

You've got the story all made up inside your head
You write me out of it and use your words instead
You hold me just out of reach, but you keep me pounding the beat
To take all the soul you can get

You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change
You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change

You take no chances and you give no other choice
You fill your pockets and you empty out my voice
You use the shallow and old, trade the heart for the gold
You sell the song for the noise
You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change
You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change

You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change
You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change

You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change
You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change

You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change
You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change

You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change
You want me to change, change, change
You want me to change

What is the meaning behind Change lyrics?

When we look deeper into its meaning, the song Change by Churchill is about the feeling of constantly having to change yourself just to meet other people's standards and wants. The lyrics portray a situation where the person feels being controlled and silenced, resulting in the loss of their real self and talk. The imagery of being repeatedly asked to change is a way to illustrate through a metaphor the difficulty of keeping one's uniqueness when facing outside forcing to conform and compromising. Change Lyrics mainly convey the feelings of angst, heartbreak, despair, social commentary, and reflection. Conversely, the song also highlights issues of manipulation and control, identity and self-worth, and artificiality versus authenticity. The lyrics speak of themes of manipulation and inner turmoil which might not be appropriate for little kids to hear without a parent's supervision. On the other hand, there isn't any rough language, violence, or erotic material in it that would justify a higher classification.

People want you to change to what they are comfortable with, and don't give a second thought of who your true self is . my personal interpretation. ;)

The meaning to me is that all the labels and artists are changing their images just to become more and more popular. This group is obviously not changing ANYTHING anytime soon. And I raise a glass to that.

According to a band interview, it started with the idea of record labels wanting bands to change their style to fit a certain mold... and that you can relate this to many relationships of today as well. I agree with Naomie, it's a great song!
