It only means that something that others might think is a detriment, can, if you use your head, be zurned into an asset.
Nothing to do with bullying!! It was written way back when, instead of whining that someone hurt your feelings or pushed you around, you used your HEAD, just as the song is trying to teach you, and defeat the bully by being SMART and by being AN ASSET.

as you can tell, this is OBVIOUSLY a very deep song. the writer worked with children a lot, and witness a lot of bullying. he noticed one student who had an amazing aptitude for stacking hundreds of coins on top each other. he was bullied profusely and later brought a knife to a special ed class and began gutting them one by one during lunch hour. However . the story manages to be heartwarming.
