BUSTED

- Year 3000 Lyrics

One day when I came home at lunch time I heard a funny noise
Went out to the backyard to find out if it was one of those rowdy boys
Stood there was my neighbor called Peter and a Flux Capacitor

He told me he built a time machine
Like the one in a film I've seen
Yeah, yeah

He said, "I've been to the year 3000
Not much has changed but they lived underwater
And your great, great, great granddaughter
Is pretty fine"
(Is pretty fine)

He took me to the future in the flux thing and I saw everything
Boy bands and another one and another one and another one
Triple breasted women swim around town totally naked!

We drove around in a time machine
Like the one in a film I've seen
Yeah, yeah

He said, "I've been to the year 3000
Not much has changed but they lived underwater
(Not much has changed but they lived underwater)
And your great, great, great grand daughter
Is pretty fine"
(Is pretty fine)

I took a trip to the year 3000
This song had gone multi-platinum
Everybody brought our seventh album
It had outsold Micheal Jackson

I took a trip to the year 3000
This song had gone multi-platinum
Everybody brought our seventh album
Seventh album, seventh album

He told me he built a time machine
Like the one in a film I've seen
Yeah, yeah

He said, "I've been to the year 3000
Not much has changed but they lived underwater
And your great, great, great granddaughter
(And your great granddaughter)
Is pretty fine"
(She's pretty fine)
Oh, oh, yeah

He said, "I've been to the year 3000
(3000)
Not much has changed but they lived underwater
(Not much has changed but they lived underwater)
And your great, great, great granddaughter
(And your great granddaughter)
Is pretty fine"

He said, "I've been to the year 3000
Not much has changed but they lived underwater
(Not much has changed but they lived underwater, yeah)
And your great, great, great grand daughter
(And your great granddaughter)
She's pretty fine"
(She's pretty fine)

He said, "I've been to the year 3000
(I've been to the year 3000)
Not much has changed but they lived underwater
And your great, great, great grand daughter
Is pretty fine"

When we look at what the artist truly meant to say, the Busted's 'Year 3000' is a fun song that narrates a story about traveling through time to the year 3000, where the narrator sees strange and interesting things like living in the ocean and music trends of the future. The song through amusingly extravagant and futuristic events presents the themes of curiosity, imagination, and the universal desire of mankind to see the future. The lyrics of Year 3000 primarily point out adventure, happiness, festivity, and love along with nostalgia. Simultaneously, the song emphasizes the inevitability of time travel and exploration, the future and change, family legacy, and pop culture and fame. The song has some soft suggestive themes, like obviously not so serious references to nudity and a funny dealing with future society, which may be inappropriate for the very little ones. But the song is free of strong language, violence, or explicit content making it suitable for older children under parental guidance.

Both songs are originally Busted's, but after they broke up, some member of the band changed the lyrics a bit and gave the Jonas Brothers permission to cover those songs.

@ I AM MAD: Not actually. Busted has this song on their debut album in 2003. The Jonas Brother's covered this (And What I go to School For) on THEIR debut in 2006. They rewrote it for the kiddies.
