Experiencing the West Coast premiere of Laurie Anderson's 'Landfall,' in a multimedia performance with the Kronos Quartet at Stanford's Bing Concert Hall, was like being inside a cult temple designed by film director Stanley Kubrick. Gorgeous and strange, with visual projections on its acoustic 'sails,' the hall operated as an extension of one's senses.
