Schism Lyrics

I know the pieces fit 'cause I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smoldering. Fundamental differing.
Pure intention juxtaposed will set two lovers souls in
motion
Disintegrating as it goes testing our communication
The light that fueled our fire then has burned a hole
between us so
We cannot see to reach an end crippling our
communication.

I know the pieces fit 'cause I watched them tumble down
No fault, none to blame it doesn't mean I don't desire
to
Point the finger, blame the other, watch the temple
topple over.
To bring the pieces back together, rediscover
communication

The poetry that comes from the squaring of the dream,
And the circling is worth it.
Finding beauty in the dissonance.

There was a time that the pieces fit, but I watched
them fall away.
Mildewed and smoldering, strangled by our comforting
I've done the math enough to know the dangers of our
second guessing
Doomed to crumble unless we grow, and strengthen our
communication.

Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any
Sense of compassion
Between supposed lovers
Between supposed lovers

I know the pieces fit
I know the pieces fit
I know the pieces fit

Such a tough song to find meaning in. Personally, I feel that he see's potential in the unity of humans and gets frustrated by our relentless fighting and inability to truly communicate with each other. He feels that we are all One, but that we have somehow fallen apart and separate.

Hey kids, captain obvious to the rescue. All very creative suggestions but maybe it's simply about a minor falling out between band members. then again I'm not a terribly deep person. Song also reminds us that Danny Carey is a f`ing Alien!

Schism, it means to split. This split is occurring inside himself. He's fallen apart on the inside and is no longer able to express the way he feels to the one he loves. He can't make love any more, all he can do is f-ck.

i see this as an interpretation of music or some form of art... he knows how to take the pieces and bring them back together... and the temple falling over because it needs to make way for a new bigger showcase of talent

All forms of art including music should cause you to have an emotional reaction.. if you think its about tetris or smoking crack it doesn't matter. The point is that you find a way to make songs your own.

Jambi is about Maynards son. Devo, who recently appeared on the lastest Puscifer album. Schism, is about the band. Going to a temporary state of disharmony.

Schism the word is specifically with differences in beliefs and agendas. The song is about society, all the evidence we need to communicate, is. Different relationship to me, but it's one all the same
