Humble And Kind Lyrics

You know there's a light that glows by the front door
Don't forget the key's under the mat
Childhood stars shine, always stay humble and kind
Go to church 'cause your momma says to
Visit grandpa every chance that you can
It won't be wasted time
Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door, say please, say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

Don't expect a free ride from no one
Don't hold a grudge or a chip and here's why
Bitterness keeps you from flyin'
Always stay humble and kind
Know the difference between sleeping with someone
And sleeping with someone you love
"I love you" ain't no pick up line so
Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door, say please, say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When those dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

When it's hot, eat a root beer popsicle
Shut off the AC and roll the windows down
Let that summer sun shine
Always stay humble and kind
Don't take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you're goin
Don't forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
Always stay humble and kind

Words to live by. Too bad most of us don't seem to get it until we get older. Lost a baby son while serving in Vietnam..I never got to meet him but it still haunts me 50 years later.

I lost my husband 4 years ago this August . We enjoyed music and we had 31 years together. This song makes me think of the happy days spend with him. It also makes me think of my parents , my brother and sisters. We recently had a family reunion the first one in twenty-two years, we are aging now but that week together brought back a lot of wonderful memories.

I lost my husband in July of last year. We loved music and we spent 25 years together enjoying it. After he died, I had a hard time even listening to music and had to walk through his music room full of guitars and sound equipment every day. I heard this song and knew you wrote it to remind me of him. He was 'Humble and Kind'. Thank you for giving me a song that I can always hold close, enjoy and allowed me to continue to love music as he would want for me.

This song touches my heart in so many ways. It reminds me of how I want to be, not as I am always, just as I always want to be. It makes me think of my parents who are in heaven, my son who is with them waiting for me. How little of life we get right sometimes and how other times we give so little of ourselves but it means the world to someone else. Funny how life can be, it is what it is, isn't it? Thank you for this song and touching my life. God bless you and keep you and yours in the palm of his hand.
