MASSIVE ATTACK

- Teardrop Lyrics

Love, love is a verb
Love is a doing word
Feathers on my breath
Gentle impulsion
Shakes me, makes me lighter
Feathers on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath

In the night of matter
Black flowers blossom
Feathers on my breath
Black flowers blossom
Feathers on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath

Water is my eye
Most faithful my love
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire of a confession
Feathers on my breath
Most faithful my love
Feathers on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath

You're stumbling a little
You're stumbling a little

What is the meaning behind Teardrop lyrics?

When we dive into the story the lyrics are telling, the track 'Teardrop' by the band Massive Attack along with Elizabeth Fraser employs metaphors such as 'love is a verb' and 'teardrop on the fire' in order to reveal the difficulties of emotions and the relationships. The song's abstractness around love and fear, along with the singer's spiritual themes of introspection, makes it possible to see the human connections' fragile balance between strength and vulnerability. The lyrics of Teardrop predominantly communicates love, break-up, conflict, contemplation and despair. However, the song emphasizes the positive aspects of love and connection, the difficult paths of struggle and the tenacity of resilience and the process of self-examination in a very subtle way. There are no foul phrases, adult content or bloodshed in the lyrics. The message is appropriate for all listeners since it addresses love and feelings in a very civilized way, thus no unsuitable materials are present.

These lyrics are a joke! feathers on my breath WTF? It's 'water is my-y' not water is my eye! That's just silly! Why bother adding them if you don't know them? And the 'mirror' 'my love' really? Dumb!

it is fearless not feathers. someone who did a cover version got it wrong and it made it into their newer liner notes so feathers is being repeated all over the place. original singer sang fearless.
