Lightning Crashes Lyrics

Lightning crashes, a new mother cries
Her placenta falls to the floor
The angel opens her eyes
The confusion sets in
Before the doctor can even close the door

Lightning crashes, an old mother dies
Her intentions fall to the floor
The angel closes her eyes
The confusion that was hers
Belongs now, to the baby down the hall

Oh now feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it

Lightning crashes, a new mother cries
This moment she's been waiting for
The angel opens her eyes
Pale blue colored iris, presents the circle
And puts the glory out to hide, hide

Oh now feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it
I can feel it

I can feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it

I can feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it

I can feel it comin' back again
Like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it
I can feel it
I can feel it

This song is clearly about the circle of life. An older mother down the hall is dying and a new baby is being born from a new mother down the hall. The overall confusion of life is indicative of cycle

It's about the circle of life, and how one is end as a new life is starting. the mother isn't the mother of this new child, just someone else. It's dedicated to a friend who died, but not about her.

I think the first part is about a stillbirth. The second is about a mother dying in childbirth. The fourth one is just about childbirth. I think it has to do with, how life is a gift not everyone gets

wow lots of different interpretations of this song. My interpretation is way off. LOL I was thinking it was about and older mother that has lived her life dying as a new child is born. circle of life

Ed wrote this song (and was recorded) BEFORE the friend died. it was then later DEDICATED 4 her. song is about life & death & everything in between. (Forces pullin' from the center of the earth again)

A friend of the writer was killed by a drunk driver. Several of her organs were donated. part of her liver to a new born baby. yes life and death, but the life his friend gave to five other people.
