For Those Tears I Died Lyrics

You said You'd come and share all my sorrows,
You said You'd be there for all my tomorrows;
I came so close to sending You away,
But just like You promised You came there to stay;
I just had to pray!

And Jesus said, "Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied;
I saw ev'ry teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I
died."

Your goodness so great I can't understand,
but, dear Lord, I know now that all this was planned;
I know You're here now, and always will be,
Your love loosed my chains and in You I'm free;
But Jesus, why me?

And Jesus said, "Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied;
I saw ev'ry teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I
died."

Jesus, I give You my heart and my soul,
I know that without God I'd never be whole;
Savior, You opened all the right doors,
And I thank You and praise You from earth's humble
shores;
Take me, I'm Yours.

And Jesus said, "Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied;
I saw ev'ry teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I
died."

Our daughter bought the sheet music to this song at a Jesus Rally in Chicago in the
1970s. She and two friends sang it as a special at church. In 1974 she was abducted and murdered. This song had a special meaning and message to all who loved her. Yes, Jesus died for the tears we all shed.

This was one of the songs (along with His Word and the witness of friends) that God used to bring me into His Kingdom. It was through understanding that God really loves me - why me?! - that I surrendered my heart to Jesus. The writer had brought her sister and friends to faith in Christ, and wasn't a lesion at that time, apparently. She even married. But the words are truth as they line up with God Word.

JESUS IS TELLING ALL OF US HE IS ALWAYS WITH US. IT MATTERS NOT THAT A LESBAIN WROTE THIS. WE ALL HAVE SIN IN OUR LIVES, SO ANY SONG EVER WRITTEN IS BY A SINNER

This song is a very touching song, that my family and always sing and it has a very deep meaning to me. It tells me how Jesus really accepts his people to stand by his side no matter what!
