I Can Go The Distance Lyrics

I have often dreamed
Of a far off place
Where a great warm welcome
Will be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer
When they see my face
And a voice keeps saying
This is where I'm meant to be

I'll be there someday
I can go the distance
I will find my way
If I can be strong
I know every mile
Will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere
To feel like I belong

[Reprise]

I am on my way
I can go the distance
I don't care how far
Somehow I'll be strong
I know every mile
Will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere to find where I belong

Down an unknown road
To embrace my fate
Though that road may wander
It will lead me to you
And a thousand years
Would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime
But somehow I'll see it through

And I won't look back
I can go the distance
And I'll stay on track
No I won't accept defeat
It's an uphill slope
But I won't lose hope
Till I go the distance
And my journey is complete

But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part
For a hero's strength is measured by his heart

I will beat the odds
I can go the distance
I will face the world
Fearless, proud, and strong
I will please the Gods
I can go the distance
Till I find my heroes' welcome
Right where I belong

Bree-Ada actually, in the first verse it is correct. A great warm welcome is correct. Both on CD and in the movie because at this point in the song Hercules is still a boy, and has not yet talked with Zeus, he just wants someone to welcome him not a heroes welcome.

umm chica it is correct, the disney verion is a little off but this is the original so maybe instead of complaining you should just enjoy the song I mean because by the end the of day it is just a freaking song so why complain!!!!!

It doesn't matter if the lyrics are correct or wrong, for me both the original and edited one are so inspiring. Love it'

No, the actual Disney version sung by Robert Bart has 'great warm welcome,' not, 'hero's welcome.' There are multiple versions, though. The Robert Bart version doesn't have most of this in it.

Am I the ONLY one that notices this? Most of the lyrics are wrong. In the song it says where a great warm welcome will be waiting for me,but the lyrics say a hero's welcome. They need to be corrected.JS.
