BRAD PAISLEY

Southern Comfort Zone Lyrics

When your wheelhouse is the land of cotton,
The first time you leave it can be strange, it can be shocking

Not everybody drives a truck, not everybody drinks sweet tea
Not everybody owns a gun, wears a ball cap boots and jeans
Not everybody goes to church or watches every NASCAR race
Not everybody knows the words to "Ring Of Fire" or "Amazing
Grace"

Chorus:
Oh, Dixie Land,
I hope you understand
When I miss my Tennessee Home
And I've been away way too long
I can't see this world unless I go
Outside my Southern Comfort Zone

I have walked the streets of Rome, I have been to foreign lands
I know what it's like to talk and have nobody understand
I have seen the Eiffel Tower lit up on a Paris night
I have kissed a West Coast girl underneath the Northern Lights
I know what it's like to be the only one like me,
To take a good hard look around and be in the minority

And I Miss my Tennessee home
But I can see the ways that I've grown
I can't see this world unless I go
Outside my Southern Comfort Zone

I miss your biscuits and your gravy
Fireflies dancing in the night
You have fed me you have saved me
Billy Graham and Martha White

I have since become a drifter
And I just can't wait to pack
Cause I know the road I leave on
It will always bring me back

(Solo)

Chorus
I wish I was in Dixie Again
I miss my Tennessee Home
And I've been away way too long
I can't see this world unless I go
Outside My Southern Comfort Zone

Look away, look away

(Chorus: I wish I was in Dixie, away, look away)

fine not everybody does this and this and the other but its insulting and arrogant to say he's walked the streets of rome etc, clearly implying that those who drink sweet tea etc, DONT. pompus. not a cool song and those who dont get it well, ya look kinda dumb.

My Mother was born in what is now the GSM Nat'l Park; I was born in Knoxville. We LOVE TN! Thank you Mr. Paisley and your song writers for honoring Dixie in such a sublime way! You help honor us Southern Americans who sometimes have to endure ridicule. Your lyrics are charming and uplifting.

As I travel this world and see amazing sights I grow as an individual but home is still where my heart is. I have seen the Eiffel Tower lit up at night and I know what it's like not to be understood. I know what it's like to miss my home!

Alot of West Virginians in the Northern Panhandle are up in arms over this. I mean he is from Glen Dale, WV after all. This song is just pandering to the country fan base in general. God Bless Ohio.

My late boyfriend lived in Nashville, even though he was born in Toledo he always said he bled orange. I'm going to Gatlinburg this week with my brother & sister-in-law & this song just makes my heart yearn for Tennessee. When is the cd coming out? Please be soon!

Plain and simple. Know yourself, acknowlege others differences. Travel, explore and repect all that that this world has.....and always, always, remember your Home.

My son is in the military and this song fits him to a T! He's been to many a foreign land, has seen the eiffel tower, walked the streets of Sicily, and now sits in the desert waiting for his time to see his Bristol Tennessee home once again! Wonderful song!

Reminds me allot about the South and Dixie. It puts tears in my eyes to hear him sing about Paris because that is where I'm from. Plus the gospel at the end makes it beautiful.

I can't stop listening to this song because I can just see the huge smile it would put on my Dad's face if he were still alive to hear it and to hear positive shades of Dixie celebrated in a current song. Thank you Mr. Paisley.
