Nik Quaife, one of Ireland's best known arts publicists and the founder and director of Dublin-based Zoetrope Arts Public Relations company, has been appointed Director of Communications and External Affairs at the Irish Arts Center here in New York.

Nik Quaife, one of Ireland's best known arts publicists and the founder and director of Dublin-based Zoetrope Arts Public Relations company, has been appointed Director of Communications and External Affairs at the Irish Arts Center here in New York.

» Zoetrope was a popular Chicago band in the 80’s, Zoetrope’s music (self-described as “street metal”) was aggressive 80’s metal bordering on thrash. Two good albums were released in the eighties, and then a totally revamped lineup came together five years later with “Mind Over Splatter”, which may or may not be of a similar style. The bands name (pronounced e-trope) was derived from sort of film industry apparatus, as well as the name of Francis Ford Copp.
