It was a race two years in the making. "We all love getting on the starting line and we long to get to the finish line," Running Central owner and Run River City Marathon co-director Adam White said. "It's been a long time coming. We've seen it in the distance and now it's nice to have crossed the line." But White didn't just cross the finish line - he broke the tape.

Dennis Lee, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, got a longer warmup run than he wanted for Saturday's full marathon. The 47-year-old mistakenly ran the 10K race, which started at 7 a.m. After crossing the finish line and realizing his mistake, he walked back to the starting line for the full marathon start at 8:15 a.m.
