Th' Legendary Shack*Shakers are a Nashville, Tennessee-based rock band that began in 1998. Their image is self-proclaimed as "Southern Gothic", and relies on mixing and mashing the sounds of punk, polka, and traditional hillbilly forms of music. The lyrics are often poetic and nonsensical. Frequent subject matter include carnivals, monkeys, murder, mental illness, Jesus, the Devil, and alcohol. Frontman Col. J.D.
