So this is the Ricky Gervais effect. Six months ago rapper-turned-comedian Doc Brown was playing small stand-up clubs. Then he appeared alongside Gervais in the Comic Relief video Equality Street and last night he sold out the Royal Albert Hall. Well, actually the 200-seat Elgar Room, which has started running regular comedy nights, so maybe no Ricky-powered world domination just yet.
