Little Lies, by Tarja Turunen is a song that holds a message as most do. Here's my take on this song, and you can interpret it as you will. Lies are all around us in day to day life, be it a little white lie, such as saying that you didn't steal a cookie from the cookie jar. Or maybe a large one, such as saying that you kept a promise when you didn't do so. My point still stands, a lie is a lie, regardless of its size. So with that being said here is the first verse of the song.

'Take my faith with an open hand and warm embrace
My confidant
Use my words
Take the good away and leave the worst to sell me out'

So when I look at that, and yes, your view may be different. However when I hear and read that verse, she's more or less speaking of her extending her faith and trusting in another, who she's eventually betrayed by, in this case likely by someone speaking about her behind her back and speaking false words, in simple terms, lies.

Now the chorus, and once again, you may not see it as I do.

Making up tragedies
Nothing is what it seems
Who cares what is real
Little lies
Little Lies
Only to entertain
The message is all the same for those who believe'

Now with that part I feel as if she's speaking about the person who betrayed her, and that person is speaking false words about her. And others of course are believing them. Please note that people will sometimes believe what they're told unless they know better.

Moving onto the second verse, and take her song as you will.

'Feed the flames
Empty wishes with no room to blame
My sacrifice
Deep inside
There is nothing left to stand behind
But little lies'

When I hear her sing that and follow along with the lyrics, I feel as if she's starting to give up hope and by 'Feed the flames,' she's likely speaking about the lies becoming more and more widespread. From there she's speaking about being the sacrifice, in other words the one who the other is speaking ill about. The last two lines are where I feel as if she's finally giving up what little hope there is left and resigning herself to her fate.

And now the chorus repeats twice more, as if emphasizing the point that now all hope or the majority of it has been lost, and she's learned that people will believe what they desire to, even if it's not true.

Overall, with the above being said I highly encourage all of you who listen to this piece of wonderful music to take it as you will and even post a song meaning if you want. Please just remember that a single little lie can spread like wildfire. I've personally seen it happen countless times. Anyhow, I pray that all who took the time to read this enjoyed what they saw and of course the song itself.
