Come Little Children Lyrics

Come Little Children
I'll Take Thee Away, Into A Land
Of Enchantment
Come Little Children
The Time's Come To Play
Here In My Garden
Of Shadows
Follow Sweet Children
I'll Show Thee The Way
Through All The Pain And
The Sorrows
Weep Not Poor Children
For Life Is This Way
Murdering Beauty And
Passions
Hush Now Dear Children
It Must Be This Way
Too Weary Of Life And
Deceptions
Rest Now My Children
For Soon We'll Away
into The Calm And
The Quiet
Come Little Children
I'll Take Thee Away, Into A Land
Of Enchantment
Come Little Children
The Time's Come To Play
Here In My Garden
Of Shadows

It is a grim lullaby that invites children to not think of death as a finality of nothingness, but merely a haven of peace and quiet to escape from the horrors and pain of life. That being said, it could also have the meaning that children should not be afraid of the dark and should relish it, as life is hard, but at night, though they may be afraid of the shadows, they are lead into dreams which allow them to also escaped the torments of life.
Personally, I connect more to the eulogistic interpretation of the piece, as it could be played as the final send-off for a young child who was tragically taken from this world far too early...

Uh, this actually was an Edgar Allen Poe poem, so yeah. That's why it's so dark and grim and about death. However, I agree with ADarkLullaby's first meaning - it's about death and not being afraid of it. In the movie, the witch sings this song to lure children to her home.

I love this song because it has to deal with children not to think of death and passion of their beauty and life force. I think it means about the song tells me that it make me fall asleep while the song was based on the poem by Edgar Allan Poe or from the movie Hocus Pocus which this song sung by Sarah Sanderson who played by Sarah Jessica Parker which she lure children in to suck their life force.

I love this song it's just the feeling of comfort and safety and that someone is out there to save you from your pain and just take you away to a better place......I always wanted to feel safe and listening to this song lets me know that everyone gets helped and saved by someone. the longing for safety in my heart burns.
